1 lb. chuck meat cut into bite size pieces
1 can (28 oz.) tomatoes
1/2 tbsp salt
1 bay leaf
2 cups water
1 can (8 oz.) green beans
1 can (8 oz.) whole kernel corn
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup barley
1/4 tsp oregano
1 clove garlic, minced
Place meat, tomatoes, salt, and bay leaf in a medium size pot. Add 2
cups water, cover, and bring to a boil. Skim the surface, reduce
heat, and simmer, covered, for 1 hour. Add beans, corn, onion,
barley, oregano, and garlic. Simmer, covered, 1 hour longer or until
tender.
