1 1/2 lbs. Beef Stew Meat
1 1/2 quarts of cold water
1 small onion, quartered
1 tsp. salt
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1 cup tomato soup
6 sprigs parsley
1/2 head cabbage, chopped
1/4 cup. rice or barley
5 or 6 carrots, sliced
2 cups green beans
1 cup diced potato
1/2 cup chopped celery
Brown meat in small amount hot fat. When browned, add water, onion, and
slat. Cook slowly 2 hours. Add vegetables and continue cooking for 1 hour.
Serves 8 to 10 people
