Brownies in a Jar

2 cups sugar
1 cup baking cocoa
1 cup flour
1 cup chopped pecans
6 oz. pkg. semisweet chocolate chips

In a one quart, wide mouth jar, layer sugar and cocoa and pack down; wipe the inside of the jar with a paper towel to remove any excess from the sides. Layer flour, pecans and chocolate chips, packing down tightly after each addition. Secure lid and attach a gift tag with instructions.
Instructions:
In a large bowl, cream one cup softened butter. Add 4 eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add brownie mix and beat until smooth.
Spread into a greased 13 x 9" baking pan; bake 40 to 50 minutes until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Makes 18 servings.
