1 baked 9 inch pie crust or graham
cracker crust, cooled
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 cup baking cocoa
1/3 cup cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
3 cups milk
3 tbsp butter or regular margarine
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
Prepare pie crust. Cool. Stir together sugar, cocoa, cornstarch, and salt in a medium saucepan. Gradually add the milk, stirring until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture comes to a boil. Boil one minute. Remove from heat. Stir in the butter and vanilla. Pour into prepared crust. Press elastic wrap directly onto the surface. Cool to room temperature. Refrigerate 6 to 8 hours.
