3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup light corn syrup
3 (1 oz) squares unsweetened chocolate,
melted and cooled
3 tbsp melted butter or regular margarine
3 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans
1 (9 inch) unbaked pie shell
Preheat oven to 375 F. Combine the sugar, salt, corn syrup, cooled chocolate, butter, eggs, and vanilla in a bowl. Beat with electric mixer at medium speed until well blended. Stir in the pecans. Turn the mixture into the pie shell. Bake for 35 minutes or until set. The pie is puffy when it comes out of the oven and sinks while cooling. Cool on a wire rack.
