Classic Beef Stroganoff
Classic Beef Stroganoff
Classic Beef Stroganoff
1 lb. beef sirloin, cut 1/2-inch thick
2 Tbs. butter or margarine
1/2 lb. mushrooms, washed, trimmed and sliced
1 medium onion, minced
2 Tbs. butter or margarine
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can beef broth
2 Tbs. ketchup
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbs. flour
1 cup dairy sour cream
1 pkg. noodles
Cut beef into 1-inch strips. In a 10-inch skillet, heat 2
tablespoons margarine and brown beef. Remove beef; add mushrooms and
onion and cook until soft. Remove. Add 2 tablespoons margarine to
skillet. Add garlic; cook until lightly browned. Stir in flour and
ketchup. Add beef broth, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and
return beef, mushrooms and onions to skillet. Simmer while cooking
noodles according to package directions. Drain noodles. Stir sour
cream into beef mixture. Serve immediately over noodles.
