Chopped Steak Barbecue
Chopped Steak Barbecue
1 1/2 lbs. ground sirloin
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
3/4 cup crumbled cooked bacon
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh herbs, such as oregano, chives, parsley, etc
1/4 t. each salt and pepper
combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl until well mixed. Shape into 4 large "steaks". Grill 3 to 4 inches from hot coals, turning to cook evenly. Cook 10 to 12 minutes until internal temperature reaches 160 or until no longer pink in the center. Makes 4 servings. Note: Chill the prepared steak patties to firm them up while preparing the coals.
