Fried Doughnut Strips
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 t. salt
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup water
Oil for frying
Sift together flour and salt. Mix in beaten egg and water. Blend well. Knead mixture on floured board until smooth. Let stand 10 minutes. Heat oil in skillet to 375. Oil should be about 3/4" deep but should not fill skillet more than 1/3 full. Roll out dough as thinly as possible. Cut in narrow strips. Drop dough into fat. Fry until bottom is golden brown. Turn and fry other side. Drain on paper towels. Makes 3 dozen
