Pumpernickel Cocktail Squares
Appetizer Recipes
Pumpernickel Cocktail Squares
Pumpernickel Cocktail Squares
1 lb. Italian sausage
1 lb. Hamburger
1 lb. Velveeta
2-3 Garlic cloves
2 loaves Cocktail Bread (square) Pumpernickel or Rye
1/4 tsp. Fennel seeds, crushed
1 tsp. Oregano
Remove sausage from casings and mix and brown along
with hamburger. Drain. Cut Velveeta and lay on top of meat.
Cover until cheese is melted. Stir in remaining ingredients.
Put generous spoonful on top of square cocktail bread of
your choice. Toast in 350 degree oven until hot and cheese
is bubbly.
May be frozen after assembly then placed into freezer zip
bags. When ready for use thaw and bake as above.
This makes 2 large cookie sheets full. I usually assemble
these on the cookie sheets then stick the cookie sheets
into the freezer until frozen then place in zip bags until ready
to use some or all.
